Happy Earth Day everyone. celebrate it, get depressed about it, mourn it, rejoice it, but i hope you think about it. There are at least two events in today’s gothamist related to this great day. Greenyc has a nice anti-idling campaign. I hope they make the case how it’s a waste of our money to idle. Check out the different ideas Bloomberg and crew are trying to push to improve our city. I heard that serious efforts are going to be made to create ad paris style bike loan system. Man, that would rule.

Happy Earth day. yes, that’s “day.” with a period, not “day!” with an exclamation point. Personally, i have little to celebrate about. I turn on the radio, (and having left the station on WFAN from the mets broadcast the day before) and i hear morning host craig carton making fun of former NY Giant Dhani Jones for caring about his carbon footprint. By the way, my sister got me into Dhani’s new show on the travel channel where he goes all over the world playing other sports and learning about other cultures: Dhani tackles the world. (It’s a great show!). Jim just said yesterday: doing things, and going new places changes your mind (plasticity).

Maybe it was educating myself more, or getting rid of my car and taking public transportation more. Or maybe its the feeling that the government is starting to address climate change. Ninly.net was telling me of his new garden and compost in his new backyard and it made me jealous. Garbage has just been on my mind. (continue reading…)
