Bats in Science Magazine’s this week in science

well i just found out via the leonard lopate show that it is believed that only 4% of a bat’s diet is mosquitoes, so they do little to help me win the war against them. i found this following bat nugget in Science magazine’s This Week In science. It’s really easy to forget that NYC has a very abundant fauna population, and if you are around in the early evening, it is quite common to see maybe the hardest working animals this side of broadway (no lion king). Thank you Mr. Bat for eating way beyond your body weight in mosquitoes. Keep those suckers as far away from my chocolate skin as possible. (continue reading…)
