event: the theory of everything

by Greg on Nov.13, 2009, under Science Event

November 14, 2009
2:00 pmto3:30 pm

I hope this opera finds itself on PBS-HD. That’s my favorite way to experience it:

Physics in Opera
The Theory of Everything

Physicists have long sought a theory that would unify or explain the theories of all fundamental interactions of nature. Call it the Holy Grail of physics, if you will. event: Museum Party @AMNH

by Greg on Nov.12, 2009, under Science Event

November 13, 2009 9:00 pmtoNovember 14, 2009 12:00 am

Whoa, I thought i knew about all the museum club parties going on this weekend, but this one slipped my inbox. AMNH has it’s science cafe, it has its teen sleepover party, and now, in an attempt to make people realize how amazing the building is, DJ’s, spinning hopefully, dope rhymes,  slammin beats. It’s a “date thing”. It’s a “get a bunch of friends before you head back to brooklyn” thing. AND A SPACE SHOW AT THE PLANETARIUM??! At the very worst, you might learn something awesome? Or yell at Neil deGrasse Tyson for that pluto thing.

Then there is this event tomorrow afternoon, that contextualizes our current global relationship with oxygen double hydride: (continue reading…)
