Science Life NY

Let’s take a tour around Science Life NY

by Greg on Aug.19, 2009, under Science Life Alert

Just like to give an update to everyone about what you can read on Science Life NY lately. As of today, I have five contributors writing about how they interact with science in their daily lives. More on them later. I have been torn on how to present the many science and political news i come across through the many digital (and magazine) media outlets i consume. I used to create these time consuming super posts of stories i find interesting. I then tried to use the share function on my Google Reader, but that did not seem to work. No one found that click worthy. I already had a twitter account (@sciencelifeny) that was pumping out my posts to my friends following me. Only recently have i found it to be a better way to bring attention to the articles, pictures, stories and media i find interesting.

It really is a wonderful medium. I can track what stories users click on. I can see what people think is interesting when they repost a tweet i have made. I can interact with other science people, science themed media outlets and  organizations. It is usually the first place news hits. And you don’t even have to join twitter to enjoy it. It’s right there, in the right hand panel in mind tweets. If you are interested in a topic, just click on the link and see how far down the rabbit hole it goes. You won’t have to use any strange annoying terminology like RT’s and tweets and twits. just revel in the stream of information.

Like always, Science Life NY has a list of this month’s events we come across; an inspiring/ amusing science quote; NASA’s image of the day; and a blog roll i really need to update. So please, consume, your brain looks famished.
