event: steamy days, tropical nights

by on Aug.12, 2009, under Science Event

It’s like august humidity happened just for this event:

Edible Science
Steamy Days, Tropical Nights

Thursday nights are perfect for seeing the New York Botanical Garden’s newest exhibit, the Edible Garden, and checking out their Edible Evenings: A Celebration of Wine, Beer, and Food events. This Thursday’s event is called “Tropical Treats and Tempos,” a subject that’s perfectly suited to cultural historian and Latin American culinary expert Maricell Presilla. She’s done considerable research on Latin American agricultural history with an emphasis on tropical crops and chocolate production. Her latest book is The New Taste of Chocolate: A Cultural and Natural History of Chocolate with Recipes.

Place: New York Botanical Garden, 200th St. and Kazimiroff Blvd., Bronx
Price: $20; $18 students and seniors; $8 children
