dorkbot-nyc, 01 April 2009 — Erik Sanner: Paintings that Move, Spring Planting, and How to Enjoy Traffic Cones from Dorkbot on Vimeo.
Ever since i saw this presentation in april, i have noticed with alarming regularity how useless, numerous, and different traffic cones are. This is the last presentation from their April Fools Dorkbot. I should be uploading the May 6th meeting soon. Some powerful and beautiful images in that one.
Why make art when every day we encounter strikingly beautiful, impenetrable objects of infinite interpretation? The aesthetic practice of traffic cone viewing is as rewarding as visiting a gallery or museum. However, by simultaneously engaging in traffic cone appreciation and collaborative artmaking, I believe we can each experience a unique “hey!” moment. www.eriksanner.com
