Science Life NY

New York Academy of Sciences has new look online

by Greg on Jun.22, 2009, under Science Life Alert

rcol_scJust got a tweet of the new beta website of New York Academy of Sciences and Science and the City. It looks great. They made an attempt to show two of the better aspects of NYAS: its ever-increasing library of worthwhile content, and its event listings. The site is such an improvement, i felt compelled to complete their survey.

One reason i wanted to start Science Life NY was to post the numerous science events that were happening around town for people who may find the NYAS too professional leaning or too science establishment. At times, the old layout did much to ward off non-science professionals from attending events that was targeted to a larger audience. It is a nice middle way as compared to its old information filled site and more science accessible sites  like World Science Festival or Ted.com.  This revamp will definitely help with perceptions about science events in New York City.
