Panel Discussion ft. Harold Varmus: Genomic Research: Daniel Kohn

“Science-Inspired Art”. Harold Varmus fresh off his appearance at the World Science Festival sit downs to talk about his other love, art with artist Daniel Kohn. It looks like a great event! and it’s free!

Continuing Cynthia-Reeves’ Art & Science event, Daniel Kohn, artist, and Harold Varmus, Nobel Prize recipient, will participate in a panel discussion moderated by Todd Golub, co-founder of the Broad Institute. Kohn works with researchers at the Broad Institute to recapitulate their data in a visual way. His day job has affected his art, and he says he’s “deeply interested in finding visual analogs for ideas in the genomic sciences, and through them, for emergent features of our larger world view.” If you miss the discussion, you can still see his art displayed at the Cynthia-Reeves until July 10.
Time: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Place: Cynthia-Reeves Gallery, 535 W. 24th St., 2nd Floor
Price: Free
