Smellovision 2.0
Smells combines with opera this weekend when creative director Stewart Matthew joins forces with renowned fragrance designer Christophe Laudamiel and composers Nico Muhly and Valgeir Sigurdsson. Matthew has been working on the idea of his Scentopera for over three years. Enlisting the services of European ventilation company Flakt Woods, Matthews has created a “scent organ” which can be played to give off certain scents through tiny “scent microphones” attached to each audience member’s seat. See this unique performance through Monday evening.
Place: Peter B. Lewis Theater, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, 1071 5th Ave at 89th St
