EVENT: All day green party mayoral candidate Reverend Billy will be holding an “F The Fair Hike” Whistle Stop Tour. He’ll be preaching and singing to straphangers on the F from Brooklyn to Queens. The tour begins at 11 a.m. at the Fort Hamilton station in Windsor Terrace, and the crusade will make stops at its campaign headquarters in SoHo, hold a mid-day press conference at Rockefeller Plaza, and make many more stops. Get the full schedule here.
11 a.m. start // The F train and other various stops
NERDS: Tonight’s Nerd Nite promises “more Quizo and more sort-of-sexy Nerd Nite presentations. So first, again for old time’s sake, I’ll be hosting my Quizo trivia pub quiz before the presentations begin. So get a few teammates, bring your thinking cap, and win a few sweet prizes.” This will be followed by the regular Nerd Nite program, which will feature the history of death, copyright must-knows for artists and musicians, card tricks, sexual robotics and intimate computing.
7 p.m. // Galapagos [16 Main St, Brooklyn] // $7
FOOD: If you’ve ever wanted to dine blindfolded, tonight is your chance! The Dark Dining Project brings their unique event to Camaje Bistro, where you’ll be kept in the dark as you enjoy four courses, wine and artist performances. Tax and gratuity are included in the ticket price, as is the blindfold.
7 p.m. // Camaje Bistro [85 MacDougal St] // $100
THEATER: 59E59 Theaters are in the midst of their first annual Americas Off Broadway festival, featuring five critically-acclaimed productions from theaters across the country. Tonight’s your chance to get a taste of Ithaca with the Kitchen Theatre Company‘s production of A Play on Words, a “ferociously witty play on, about and exploding with language. Rusty and Max have been friends since grade school and they’ve been arguing almost the entire time. Today they’re scheming up something big.” The Syracuse New Times says, “The rapidity and studied verbal miscues will remind old timers of classic Abbott and Costello routines, but the dissection of everyday expression sounds like vintage George Carlin.”
8:30 p.m. // 59E59 [59 E 59th St] // $18
