EVENT: Remember the good ol’ days of Saturday Night Live? One of the old writers and performers, Tom Davis (you can thank him for The Coneheads) will be back on stage tonight in conversation with comedian Mark Malkoff of The Colbert Report (and previously from IKEA and Starbucks). Davis will be discussing his career and new book, Thirty-Nine Years of Short-Term Memory Loss: The Early Days of SNL From Someone Who Was There. This is a guy who has been bar-hopping around Manhattan with Bill Murray, so you might want to listen up.
7:30 p.m. // 92YTribeca [200 Hudson St] // $12
MUSIC: How many miles would you walk for…An Acoustic Evening with The Proclaimers? Tonight the Reid brothers return, performing at Joe’s Pub. The venue points to a recent Mojo article that noted: “There is something carnivalesque about a Proclaimers gig, something feel-good and tribal that gets you up and at it.” Just get ready to have that song stuck in your head for days.
7:30 p.m. // Joe’s Pub [425 Lafayette St] // $20
