I like a good mystery, especially when the paranormal is involved. Ever since I could read paragraphs, I have been fascinated by the Bermuda Triangle. One of the first readers my parents bought for me had a non-fiction story detailing the mysterious disappearances and occurrences in the area north of their native country of Haiti.

This is the strange area on the planet where Science stops; where alien technology created black holes that ripped the geo-magnetic resonance of the planet’s Gaia force. Every year,  hundreds of crafts are reported missing. Out of thin air. If ghosts did exist, they probably came from this spot and rented a nice loft in a sunken Atlantis. The Bermuda Triangle. The Devil’s Triangle.

Once again, Science comes out on top with a very plausible theory, presented effectively in Discovery Channel’s show, Dive to Bermuda Triangle. What causes huge shipping freighters to vanish in thin air? What happened to a 1940′s air squadron in the Atlantic of the coast of Florida? What could cause 100 foot waves to materialize out of nowhere?

Spoiler alert!

Methane.  That’s right, gassy cow, decaying matter, natural gas, tetrahedral methane. And in this case, methane hydrates, also called methane ice.  Apparently, that area of the Atlantic continental shelf is home to a massive deposit of methane gas and it is theorized that geographic changes cause massive amounts of it to be released all at once, forming super bubbles.

I won’t ruin it anymore for you, because the experiments they show  to test these theories and the investigation are fascinating and worth watching the 2 hour show. They even hired hollywood special effects techs to assist in one of the more flame intense experiments.
